Just off I-75, tucked away in the gently rolling hills between Chattanooga and Knoxville, Tennessee, the city of Sweetwater is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of everyday life (source: www.sweetwatertn.net) and the home of Sweetwater Elementary School. Pictured blended into the school’s dining room is an 8’0” x 12’0” x 8’8” high Thermo-Kool walk-in freezer. Thermo-Kool’s uncompromising commitment to a high level of quality and exceptional service fit well with the school’s recognition as one of the Great Schools in Tennessee (source: www.greatschools.org/Tennessee). In order to fit the exact space requirements and maximize storage, the walk-in freezer was manufactured to the actual size by utilizing Thermo-Kool’s high density DURATHANE panel perimeter which allows flexibility in design and the ability to manufacture in 1” panel increments. As is the standard Thermo-Kool protocol, the walk-in freezer was preassembled at the factory prior to shipment for a thorough quality control inspection to ensure a quick and trouble-free installation with no hidden costs.
The Thermo-Kool walk-in freezer was provided with a paintable surface so the exposed exterior could be painted to match the dining room’s color theme and enhance the beautiful aesthetics of the room. The interior ceiling finish of the walk-in is white stucco aluminum which partnered with two 48” fluorescent lights provides maximum illumination. The 1/8” aluminum treadplate floor includes a NSF approved foamed-in-place interior ramp which is an integral part of the floor panel. The 34” x 76” door assembly consists of Thermo-Kool’s patented heavy reinforced steel u-channel door frame design which ensures extra support and rigidity to the door section. The door frame also includes an additional heater wire which can be hooked up for immediate functionality in the event the heater wire burns out. The entrance door has continuous steel backups which are foamed-in-place in the door to accommodate all hardware placement. Other door accessories include a temperature alarm/door monitor with a panic switch and motion detector, 1/8” aluminum treadplate kickplates 48” high on the interior and exterior and vinyl swing doors.
