At Thermo-Kool, we don’t just build walk-ins—we build each other up. June 6th, we’re proud to support one of our very own as he steps into the national spotlight. Meet Travion Stallworth, a forklift driver and grounds maintenance team member by day—and a powerhouse vocalist by heart.
In just over two months at Thermo-Kool, Travion has already made an impression with more than just his work ethic. With a guitar in hand and a voice that moves rooms, he's chasing a lifelong dream by auditioning for American Idol.
“I actually love Thermo-Kool. Best job I’ve had so far.”
We sat down with Travion before his big audition to learn more about his journey, his passion for music, and the message he hopes to share with the world.
Q&A with Travion Stallworth
Q: When did you first discover your love for music?
Travion: I started singing around 10th grade, but I knew I could do music as early as 6th. I joined choir and realized I could hold a note. That’s when I started writing songs and poems and eventually went to USM on a choir scholarship.
Q: Do you play any instruments?
Travion: I play both guitar and piano.
Q: Does music run in your family?
Travion: Definitely. My dad sings, and my mom can dance. But I’m the only one really pursuing it as a career.
Q: What inspired your American Idol audition?
Travion: I tried The Voice a few years ago but didn’t make it to the next round. That was hard. But when I saw Jamal Roberts win American Idol, it gave me the push to try again. It helps knowing my city—Laurel, Mississippi—is behind me, and Thermo-Kool too.
Q: What will you sing at your audition?
Travion: “Memories” by Maroon 5 (Adam Levine). I’m also considering “I Love You” by Stevie Wonder or “Ordinary People” by John Legend.
Q: How are you preparing?
Travion: I sing every day—even while driving the forklift! I practice at home with my guitar and piano. My throat’s sore from singing so much, but I love it.
Q: Any pre-performance rituals?
Travion: I pray and breathe. I remind myself it’s okay to mess up. You always get another chance.
Q: If you could duet with any past Idol contestant or judge, who would it be?
Travion: Ruben Studdard. Also Fantasia. And I love Clay Aiken, too!
Q: What would it mean to you to make it on the show?
Travion: It would mean the world. To pursue music, make my family proud, and do what I love every day—that’s the dream.
Q: If you win American Idol, what’s the first thing you’ll do?
Travion: Drop my full album. I already have songs on YouTube and Apple Music. I want this exposure to take me where I can support my family and never stop doing what I love.
Q: What advice would you give someone afraid to chase their dream?
Travion: Just don’t stop. The moment you stop, you lose love for it. The more you do it, the stronger your confidence gets.
